Appeals & Disclaimers

Applicants advised that they do not meet the criteria required for financial assistance may appeal to the Board of Trustees.

Email your appeal

Appeals are emailed directly to the Electrical Industry Education Trust Fund of Alberta Board of Trustees for review.

Who May Submit a Request for Appeal:

 In order to file an appeal, you must be a member in good standing with IBEW 424.

How to Submit an Appeal:

 You must complete the appeal form and attach all the necessary documentation pertaining to your appeal. 

Apprenticeship Tuition

·      If your appeal is regarding Electrical Tuition or Other Tuition, you must provide your official college receipt along with your AIT letter showing successful completion, proof you have all the prerequisite courses, and the reason for your appeal.  The prerequisite courses relating to Electrical/Other tuition can be found on our website.

Other

·      If your appeal is regarding reimbursement for an Institutional course, you must provide your paid receipt, a copy of the certification card, and the reason for your appeal.   

·      If your appeal is regarding a different issue, please provide as much detail as possible.  You must clearly identify the reason for your appeal and the remedy you are seeking.

What is the Process:

Appeals are directly sent to the Board of Trustees.  Once they have assessed your appeal, they will contact you with their decision.


Applicants must agree to repay the financial assistance to the Trust Fund if they do not maintain IBEW membership for 5 years after receipt of the Reimbursement(s). The Trustees of the Electrical Industry Education Trust Fund of Alberta reserve the right to limit the maximum amount of Tuition Assistance in any budget year, and/or alter, or terminate tuition assistance at any time.
